I just googled images for a sharpness calibration test and found a larger chart. The link above was too small to fit my monitor. I have no doubt this question will start popping up from others. Now I'll know my monitor sharpness setting is out of the loop as far as post processing and prints. I wasn't quite sure what the test charts would do for me, but I will go there and get it set. Adjusting the monitor sharpness won't have any effect on the print sharpness. Any sharpening that you apply has to be done in Photoshop or Lightroom to affect the print result. The lagom link that the other person gave you will allow you to set the monitor sharpness to the correct value, so that the monitor isn't under/over sharpening the image. in Lightroom such that my prints turn out as expected. My chief question is, how much do I sharpen on monitor vs. There's test images for all kinds of settings. Displa圜AL 3 and DispcalGUI 2.6 can do profiling without calibration, but IMHO this is faster and easier to do with DispcalGUI v2.6 because it has a button for that. X-rite support could not offer any extra advice, can't find anything on Google to guide me. I then calibrated with X-rite for color, brightness, and contrast. I turned the monitor's sharpness down all the way to 30 for a nice crisp result. Previously processed images had some obvious sharpening artifacts. It seemed to be turned up quite high by default. Only thing that I'm confused about is the monitor's sharpness setting which is new to me. I used my xrite to calibrate my Dell P2715Q monitor and things look very good.
